POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam’s SOCI Forum is partnering with the Sociology Club to present the film “The Anatomy of Hate: A Dialogue for Hope” at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 in Kellas Hall Room 105.
Following the screening, SUNY Potsdam faculty members Dr. David Bugg, Dr. John Youngblood and Dr. Jeremy van Blommestein will lead a workshop to discuss nonviolent strategies for dealing with conflict.
The film explores individual and collective ideologies of hate, and how we can overcome them. Filmmaker Mike Ramdell captured the white supremacist movement, Christian fundamentalism as an anti-gay platform, Muslim extremism, the Palestinian Intifada, Israeli settlers and soldiers, and U.S. forces in Iraq.
The event is free, and the public is welcome.
