MORRISTOWN — Akwesasne singer-songwriter Theresa Bear Fox will appear in concert at the Morristown Gateway Museum Saturday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m.
She has been making music in both Mohawk and English for 20 years.
Fox says she puts lots of positive messages in her songs, which she hopes will inspire others to learn Mohawk.
The Museum will present a second concert on Monday, Aug. 8 featuring the Sacci Big Band.
That will be at the Fireman’s Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.
The Sacci Band plays music of the swing era plus modern arrangements for the big band.
It features sounds made famous by Basie, Miller, and Goodman.
The concerts are made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
The concert is sponsored by the Gateway Museum as part of the Plein Air Festival organized by the Morristown Public Library.
The Festival features artists scattered through Morristown to paint landscape.
