CANTON -- St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers presents the 2020 World Tour Paddling Film Festival at the Fairfield Inn & Suites has been rescheduled for October 8.

Doors open 6:30 p.m, films begin at 7 p.m.

Finger foods and beverages, including local craft beer, will be available.

The Paddling Film Festival is an international adventure film tour presenting the world’s best paddling films of the year – whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action and lifestyle – in more than 120 cities and towns across Canada, United States and around the world.

With 24 inspiring paddling films shortlisted for the World Tour, including the 8 festival category winners, audiences will see a variety of films selected from these categories, such as hairy whitewater kayaking, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, canoeing and standup paddleboarding expeditions.

Attracting paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts, audiences can expect a fun, social and entertaining event inspired by compelling films like:

• “Iceolation” -- Two people, two weeks, two kayaks. Sophie and Ewan took a self-supported journey via sea kayak to connect with an uninhabited land of ice and penguins in Antarctica.

• “Vitamin Sea” -- One woman’s record breaking standup paddleboarding journey, spans the entire length of the mainland U.K., 1,000 miles, from Land’s End to John O’Groats. “Vitamin Sea” documents positive ways to tackle plastic pollution, and how crucial our connection to nature is in driving positive environmental change.

• “Family Routes” -- In “Family Routes,” Leanne Robinson and Dwayne Wohlgemuth embark on a summer-long canoe trip across the Northwest Territories with their two sons, four-year-old Emile and one-year-old Aleksi. Together they face the challenges of living off the land and criticism from back home.

• “Skooks” – “Skooks” explores one of the fastest tidal rapids on the planet through the eyes of professional kayaker Nick Troutman.

The Paddling Film Festival World Tour is produced by Rapid Media and presented in Canton by St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers.
