James and Pearl Oshier, Waddington, and Donald and Nancy Merkley, Lisbon, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Lucy L. Oshier and Benjamin O. Merkley, both of Lisbon.

The bride is a 2007 Madrid-Waddington Central School and a 2009 graduate of SUNY Canton. She is a registered nurse employed by St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Lisbon Central School and attended SUNY Canton for heating and plumbing services and air conditioning maintenance and repair. He is an HVAC technician employed by First Class Aire, Potsdam.

A July 14, 2012 wedding is planned.
