Brittanie Taillon, formerly of Canton, and Richard Mendez are engaged to be married.
Brittanie is the daughter of John and Tina Taillon of Canton. She is a 2007 graduate of Hugh C. Williams High School.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and performance and communication arts from St. Lawrence University in 2011 and a master’s of social work from Syracuse University in 2015. She is currently employed as a social worker at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.
Richard is the son of Juan D. Mendez of Farmingdale and Rita Mendez of Horseheads. He is a 2006 graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Huntington.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and cinema and cultural studies from SUNY Stony Brook in 2010, and a master’s in student affairs administration from Binghamton University in 2012.
He is currently employed as an academic advisor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
The couple resides in Manlius.
An October 2015 wedding is planned in Canton.
