The Today's Hair and Day Spa team raised money for Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s cancer care program. From left, in front, are cosmetologist Kate Charleson, Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Jackie Dow, owner/cosmetologist Shelly Murray, cosmetologist Trisha Pinczes, and in back, stylist Wayne Allan Foster Jr., cosmetologist Laurie Dufresne, and licensed massage therapist Brent Carbino.
POTSDAM -- Shelly Murray and her team at Today's Hair and Day Spa, 36 Market St., have been in their new location for a year now and decided to give back to the community for their first anniversary.
They set themselves on a mission to raise money for breast cancer in October.
They wanted to keep the money local so they could help their own community, which helps them stay in business.
“We love people and have a great passion for our industry and felt the need to want to give back,” Murray said.
They hosted an event, Style for a Cause, and raised $3512.74 to give to Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Navigation Program.
Murray wanted to thank all who donated to make the event successful and meaningful.
