AKWESASNE -- Tim Hortons and Papa John's have granted franchises to Tarbell Management Group in the Western Door Convenience Store at 148 State Route 37
Tarbell’s Hortons franchise is one of just a few on Indian reservations. The Papa John's franchise is the first Native American franchise in their system.
The Tim Hortons franchise will feature a 24/7 full service, full menu location with a drive through. In addition a Tim Hortons kiosk will be set up at Eastern Door Convenience Store located 1592 State Route 37 and at Bear's Den at 425 State Route 37.
The Papa John's franchise will only be located at Western Door and will feature the majority of Papa John’s traditional full menu items.
Construction of the Tim Hortons and Papa John's locations, involving a major renovation of the Western Door Store, has begun. They are expected to open this winter.
Mark Laguador, VP for Tarbell Management Group, indicated that the company has been eager to open both franchises. He said that “both franchises are market leaders in their competitive set and have fresh, top quality products”; and “we look forward to offering Tim Hortons and Papa John's products for our community to enjoy."
