St. Lawrence County’s unemployment rate last month rose slightly from the rate the same month in 2019.
DOL says the rate went to 5.9% last month from 5.7% in December 2019. They say there were 2,500 people receiving benefits both months, with 40,600 employed last month compared to 41,400 in December 2019.
In Franklin County, DOL says the rate went to 5.7% last month from 5.4% in December 2019. They say there were 1,100 people receiving benefits both months, with 18,100 employed last month compared to 18,600 in December 2019.
In Jefferson County, DOL says the rate went to 6.3% last month from 6.9% in December 2019. They say there were 2,600 people receiving benefits last month and 3,000 in December 2019, with 38,500 employed last month compared to 40,700 in December 2019.
