MASSENA — A ribbon cutting and two grand openings are planned for the two newly remodeled eateries at the Mountain Mart convenience store at 371 S. Main St.

The store’s newly remodeled Dunkin’ Donuts will have an official grand reopening on Friday, Dec. 10. The KFC restaurant, which opened its doors earlier this fall, will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 11.

A ribbon cutting for both new restaurants, which are co-located at the the Mountain Mart, will be held Friday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m.

Friday’s festivities will focus on the new Dunkin’ Donuts which has been reworked with the company’s next generation store design. A live remote radio broadcast with Yes FM 96.7, prize giveaways and special offers are planned.

Dunkin’ will also donate 10 percent of all sales made on Dec. 10 to Massena High School’s Interact Club. The club is comprised of students committed to doing service projects supporting the community, including raising awareness for the Trevor Project, a mental health support group for LGBTQ youth. Students of the club will be on-site on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. giving away special, holiday donuts in exchange for donations.

The newly renovated Dunkin’ employs approximately 22 crew members and is the first store location in Massena that features Dunkin’s new restaurant design with a modern atmosphere and innovative technologies.

The KFC grand opening on Dec. 11 will feature a live radio remote with Wild Country FM from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., giveaways, dining specials and donation opportunities.

Guests who purchase the special meal on Grand Opening Saturday will receive a $5 voucher for a return visit to a KFC in the White Management network. A Salvation Army representative will be present during the event to encourage donations to their Christmas Red Kettle Bucket towards their goal of raising $30,000 by Christmas Eve.

The KFC restaurant opened its doors earlier this fall, but held off on its Grand Opening until the staff was fully trained and its neighboring restaurant, Dunkin’, finished its renovation.
