POTSDAM – The Potsdam Public Library Computer Center will offer several classes in July to help the public become more proficient with several Microsoft applications.

• Monday July 11: Basic Word - This class is intended to leave the student able to write a well laid-out letter and produce a table. The method is hands-on with each student using one of our computers; 9-11 a.m.

• Tuesday July 12: Introduction to Home Networking (with Windows) - Open to students from 14 to 24, this class uses an MS Windows interface, showing how to troubleshoot your home connection. It will provide an overview of networking/browsing fundamentals including IP addresses, URLs and ISPs. 10:30 a.m.-noon, followed by free light buffet lunch.

• Wednesday July 13: Basic Excel - This class is an introduction to Microsoft Excel and will cover the layout and use of spreadsheets, to include basic calculations. The class will be hands on using our computers; 9-11 a.m.

• Monday July 18: Open Lab - Come and see the wealth of free classes you can take through the library! The majority of the time will be available for participants to work on their own on our computers with P.C.C. staff available to assist them; 9-11 a.m.

• Tuesdays July 19 and 26: Website Design (with Wordpress) - Open to students 14 to 24, this class represents an introduction to HTML. It will also cover the building and maintenance of a website; 10:30-noon, followed by free light buffet lunch.
