POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Save A Lot store will once again run their “Bags for a Brighter Holiday” community campaign.
For $5.99, customers can donate a bag of dinner fixings to be given to a family who would go without during the upcoming December holiday season.
The store will have paper bags made up to include a can of corn, canned green beans, cranberry sauce, brown gravy mix, buttery homestyle potatoes, box stuffing, buttermilk biscuit mix, and a fudge brownie mix.
A tag with the donor name is displayed at the store to show his/her participation and to inspire others to give.
“Each store gets to chose where to donate the bags in their respective communities,” Potsdam store general manager Ginger Miller said in a news release. “This year we have chosen to donate the bags to the Potsdam Neighborhood Center and the Church and Community Center of Canton to distribute to families for December 24. Last year the Potsdam Save A Lot store donated approximately 100 bags.
The “Bags for a Brighter Holiday” campaign will run until Dec. 24.
