POTSDAM -- Potsdam Central has rejected general construction and roofing bids and will incorporate them into a package bid.
"Rejecting the general construction and roofing construction bids is in our best interest at this time," said Jerry Griffin, PCS superintendent. "We'll be able to incorporate all the necessary work that would have gone out in the Bid Package 2 in one bid." He says the new bids are all due at the end of February, which will still keep the district on track in terms of scheduling construction work.
"Once we have a firm timeline in place we'll send out a notification to district residents as an update so everyone will know the positive upgrades coming to our campus," he said.
The board did move forward with approving several of the other contracts at the Jan. 31 school board meeting for the capital project including site work, abatement, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and food service.
