POTSDAM -- Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers recently presented $1,500 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.
Their grant will be used for supplies for the hospital’s Volunteer Services Department.
There are more than 120 active volunteers at the hospital, including many who work directly with patients. These patient services volunteers distribute items to adult patients such as crossword puzzle books and playing cards, and small toys and coloring books to pediatric patients. Volunteers also distribute personal care items like lip balm, lotion, and hand sanitizers, and provide some personal services to patients, such as a manicures or hair styling.
“With more than 4,500 inpatients per year, the hospital needs an ongoing supply of those items,” noted Volunteer and Events Coordinator Lyndsay Macagg.
This is the second consecutive year that the foundation has been awarded a Pepsi Refresh grant. The foundation exists to raise and manage funds for the sole benefit of the patients served by Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Donations may be mailed to the Foundation at 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY, 13676, or made online at www.cphospital.org .
