POTSDAM – The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is bringing back Outer Market Mania from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, July 13 during Potsdam Summer Festival.
Many activities featuring games and goodies will occur in the parking lot of the Save A Lot and Big Lots. Activities will include a Touch A Truck event, carnival games, bike safety information with a drawing for bike helmets, face painting, balloons, coloring pages, and bubble blowing.
“The first ever, to my knowledge, Touch a Truck event will be a cornerstone of the activity in Outer Market Street,” said event coordinator Janice Adderley. “We have invited many businesses and organizations to have a vehicle on display for kids to experience up close.”
Types of vehicles expected include construction, public safety, transportation, and moving trucks.
Proceeds from Touch a Truck will support Potsdam Recreation Department programs. Kinney Drugs will offer a free photo of kids with their favorite truck.
Kids will also have the opportunity to collect Golden Tickets at a variety of Outer Market Street businesses starting July 9. Golden tickets are given with a purchase at the business, and then kids can enter their tickets at the event on July 13 by 4 p.m. for a chance to win a new bicycle.
