OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce will honor longtime sports writer Dave Shea as its 2012 Citizen of the Year and law firm Carlisle, Carrothers & Clough, PC has been selected to receive the 2012 Outstanding Community Service Award.
Jill and Sean O’Brien, owners of Ogdensburg Dance Studio and Salon 1020, have been selected to receive the Business Improvement Award for 2012.
The annual dinner will take place at Gran-View Restaurant on Friday, Nov. 2. Cocktails and a silent auction begin at 5 p.m. with dinner being served promptly at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $38 each. Reservations can be made at 393-3620 or chamber@gisco.net
Since the early 1970s, Dave Shea has dedicated himself to the Ogdensburg community and the surrounding area. His work as sports editor for the Ogdensburg Journal has enabled him to follow his heart and focus on local youth.
With Preston Carlisle at its helm, Carlisle, Carrothers & Clough has been part of the fabric of Ogdensburg for many decades. They have given generously of their time and money to help improve the quality of life in the greater Ogdensburg area.
Jill and Sean O’Brien have renovated 1020 Ford Street into a multi-service salon and a multi-age dance studio. Along with renovating the interior to accommodate two businesses, they have also made major improvements to the exterior by adding new windows, doors, siding, landscaping an a new parking area. All this and a new sign is a welcome on Ford Street.
A silent auction and a live auction will take place after awards and dinner.
