Massena networking group offers business training, support beginning tonight

MASSENA -- Small business owners or anyone who hopes to be in business one day is invited to join a new networking group in Massena designed to offer business training, networking and support.

Fledgling businesses and would-be entrepreneurs are invited to drop by the Shop Around the Corner, 32 Andrews St., Massena, at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays for an informal, cost-free evening of business networking, guest speakers and training on topics important to the success of start-up businesses.

“We are hoping to build a community of entrepreneurs here in Massena - and to provide the tools and support they need to help them succeed,” noted Jim Murphy, executive director of the Massena Business Development Corp. “So often new business owners toil in isolation and sometimes they just need a safe place to share the frustrations and joy of running a small business.”

Murphy said that he hopes the Tuesday evening meet-ups will provide a positive environment for people to seek advice or provide moral support, work together and learn the basics of running as business.

Training topics through the month of May include:

• May 7 -- The Art of Business Negotiations

• May 14 -- Cash Flow Management

• May 21 -- Selling Success

• May 28 -- Tips for Getting That Bank Loan

The program is offered free of charge courtesy of the Massena Business Development Corp. and the HUB (Helping Upstart Businesses), Massena’s only business co-working space, located at 32A Andrews St.

For more information about the Training Tuesdays program or professional office space opportunities offered through the HUB, contact Jim Murphy at 315-769-8484 or via email at jamesmurphy52@me.com.
