MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital's new ER electronic records management system is online.
The MEDHOST Emergency Department Information System is designed to make emergency department visits, from triage to discharge, easier and more efficient.
It allows the healthcare team to view and revise patient records at the patient's bedside with a touch screen. It includes a graphical floor plan, reporting features, and compatibility with the hospital’s Meditech computer system.
"This new system not only benefits the hospital in improved ED documentation but also creates a more efficient workflow and higher staff satisfaction," said Massena Memorial CEO Charles F. Fahd, II.
Electronic medical data management is intended to medical errors, increase patient "throughput," higher patient satisfaction, and higher revenue, explained Ralene North, RN, Emergency Department Director.
The system will allow administrators to track trends such as high volume times, so that staffing can be adjusted as needed.
