CANTON – The newly constructed Fairfield by Marriott Canton hotel, 5955 U.S. Route 11, will host a grand opening event on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Tours, giveaways, complimentary food and beverage, chance to win 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points, and a formal ribbon cutting are planned.

Admission is free but guests are encouraged to bring an item to donate to the hotel’s drive for the Potsdam Humane Society.

The 80-room hotel opened its doors to guests on Aug. 26. Operating as a Marriott franchise, the hotel is owned and managed by Vision Hotels of Corning, NY.

The room décor features a modern desk chair, mobile desk, a couch, refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave, said a press release from the owners.

Additional hotel amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, valet laundry service, complimentary Wi-Fi, fax and copy services, and 1,581 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 85 people.

A complimentary hot breakfast, featuring oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles and other items, such as fruit, yogurt, and whole grain cereals and breads is also available.
