Entrepreneurship boot camp offered for artists in Canton

CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Arts Council (SLC Arts) will offer a six-week entrepreneurship boot camp, specifically tailored for artists.

The class will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m., from Oct. 11 to Nov. 17.

Class location is the St. Lawrence County IDA, 19 Commerce Lane.

The purpose of the program is to equip artists with the knowledge and skills to turn their passion for art into a successful business.

It will feature guest instructors, as well as critique and Q & A sessions.

Topics covered will include entrepreneurship & business basics, launching your business, getting your work ready to sell, where & how to sell your work, E-commerce, marketing your work, diversifying your income, bookkeeping & taxes, growing your business and a Q & A session with a panel of professional artists.

The cost series is $50 for enhanced creative partners, $75 for basic partners, and $100 for non-partners. Basic partnership membership fees start at just $50.
