St. Lawrence County sales tax revenues in June made a big rebound after going down significantly in April and May.
The comptroller says the county’s sales tax revenue for June was $7.8 million, up 33.2% from $5.9 million in June 2019.
The coronavirus pandemic and the business shutdowns that followed lead to a 19% reduction in April from April 2019, and a 33% reduction in May from the same month last year, according to a report from the state Comptroller’s Office.
In neighboring counties, Franklin County saw a 23.7% dip in April, a 1.4% increase in May and a 20.4% increase for June. Jefferson County’s sales tax revenue dropped 26.9% in April, 38,.4% in May and increased 21.1% in June.
