POTSDAM -- Susan M. Hodgson is joining Canton-Potsdam Hospital as its Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement.
Hodgson brings more than 13 years of quality-focused experience to the job, having most recently served as Corporate Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety with the Greater Hudson Valley Health System. She has also been Director of Quality Support Services, at The Saratoga Hospital, and Quality Management and Patient Safety Specialist at Saint Peter’s Hospital, Albany.
Hodgson received her Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration at St. Joseph’s College in Maine. Hodgson recently completed the Patient Safety Executive Program at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Mass.
Hodgson will provide oversight and management of quality management, infection prevention, case management, performance improvement, patient satisfaction, clinical documentation, and the anesthesia and hospitalist departments. She will report to the president and CEO, and will support the Board of Directors Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee.

Hodgson is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Certified Healthcare Quality Professional and member of the National Association of Healthcare Quality, and has served as a member of the HANYS Joint Commission Advisory Committee.
In her spare time, Ms. Hodgson enjoys golf, fly fishing, quilting, motorcycle riding, traveling, and spending time with her family.
