POTSDAM — Fans of old school barber shops will soon have a new business to frequent on Market St. but the faces will be very familiar.

Casey Dillon and his wife Holly Dillon recently moved their shop and rebranded Dillon’s Barbershop as Ringleader Barber and Tattoo Parlor.

“We decided to rebrand completely because Dillon’s was so well known for barbering, but we wanted a name that encompassed all we have to offer. Another big reason is Casey just completed his tattooing apprenticeship in Malone and the 45 minute drive was becoming a bit too difficult so he wanted a studio to be able to create closer to home,” Holly said.

Casey is now offering appointments for haircuts and tattoos in their new space, located at 1 Market St.

The new branding is an apt description of Casey, who originally opened in Potsdam in 2013 following his graduation from Shear Ego in 2012.

“We chose Ringleader because we felt like it was a great depiction of the role Casey plays at the shop. He is the barber and the tattoo artist at the shop, so he really is the talent and the act of the shop in a way,” Holly said.

While Casey is assisting customers realize their new look, Holly is assisting in the background to ensure the operation runs smoothly.

Holly is responsible for marketing, inventory and scheduling for the shop and is a co-owner with her husband.

Casey is a licensed master barber and has experience in cutting all types, textures, and styles of hair and specializes in men’s fades, Holly said.

In 2020, Casey was offered an apprenticeship with Ron Oesterling at Inkuisitons in Malone, leading to a new direction for the business.

Casey now splits time between barbering and tattooing since completing his apprenticeship.

For those interested, Casey works Monday through Wednesday barbering 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. by appointments only and tattoos Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. 8 p.m. by appointments only.

Appointments can be made for both online by visiting app.thecut.co/barbers/Dapperstein for haircuts and form.jotform.com/212613625353046?fbclid=IwAR2RFtu0Qhq3LlK-YcgOEqfXTyskXfnGND5XoJyzhaTSrHlJKi1aJuzx00Q for tattooing.

“We are excited to offer walk-in style flash days at least once a month and on special occasions like our upcoming Halloween Flash Night on October 31st. If you’d like more info we post regular updates on our website ringleader.business.site and our Facebook page Ringleader Barber & Tattoo Parlor,” Holly said.
