Richard L. and Anastasia (Gilson) Powers, 624 Pineview Dr., Orange City, Fla., and formerly of Potsdam, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on April 13, 2011.

The couple was originally married April 13, 1971 at the First Presbyterian Church, Potsdam, with Rev. Robert Langwig officiating. Original members of the wedding party were Donna (Ritchie) Cameron and Lloyd Howe.

The couple has three children: Lee Ann Powers-Frary, Hopkinton, Christopher L. Powers, Melbourne, Fla., and Michelle (Powers) McGill, Parishville; 10 grandchildren; and are expecting their first great-grandchild.

Richard served for six years in the U.S. Navy and is a retired radiographer and department manager at various community hospitals. He is presently team leader at SuperTarget.

Anastasia was an LPN at Massena Memorial Hospital and Canton-Potsdam Hospital. She is presently a medical biller.
