John and Anne (Staib) Goetze of 405 Central Mariner's Drive, Edgewater, Fla., and formerly of Canton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 9, 2011. The couple took a cruise with their family in August to mark the milestone.
The couple has two sons: John (Jack) and Maureen Goetze of Lebanon, Pa., and Robert (Bob) and Connie Goetze of Clifton Park, N.Y. They also have four grandchildren: Jessica, John, Christopher and Lindsey.
They were married Sept. 9, 1961 in Yonkers, N.Y. at the Bryn Mawr Park Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Tolley officiating.
The best man was Randolf Goetze, Canton, Mass. Ushers were Wes Baldwin, Sharon, Mass., Robert Wilson, Yonkers, Don Jeffrey, South Salem, N.Y. and Fred Staib, Yonkers.
The maid of honor was Joanne Catullo, Yonkers. Bridesmaids were Marilyn Haverty, Hasbrook Heights, N.J., Margaret Muller, Center Moriches, N.Y.
John is a retired administrator at SUNY Canton.
Anne is a retired registered nurse, past director of nursing at Moongate, N.H., past WIC County Coordinator, and past staff nurse at Riverview and Ogdensburg correctional facilities.
