Ava Johnson, a 2022 graduate of St. Lawrence Central School in Brasher Falls, earned an Invest in Success Scholarship for achieving a 3.8 grade point average for her first semester at Syracuse University. She is majoring in biology.
This award is given after the first semester of full-time study to undergraduates who have successfully completed at least 15 credits at Syracuse University, earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher and are in good academic standing.
Winners of this scholarship are called “Success Scholars.” The benefits of this award includes a merit scholarship of $1,000 per year for four years, as long as the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and successfully completes at least 15 credit hours each semester.
Johnson was also named to the Dean’s List.
