PCS Music Friends thanks the North Country Savings Bank for a $250 grant, supplementing support given by the Dr. D. Susan Badenhausen Legacy Fund of the Northern NY Community Foundation as well as the PCS School District. Funds will go to the Modern Band Class to be taught at the Potsdam High School by Mrs. Jill Rubio.
The $250 grant, along with other support, will allow for the purchase of electric guitars, electric basses, electronic drum kits, microphones and amplifiers needed for this innovative class. Modern band features popular music such as rock, hip-hop, pop and other styles, and this class should attract more students in the Potsdam School District to music as well as supplement the education of current music students.
PCS Music Friends still seeks $750 for remaining costs associated with this class. To this end, we plan to hold a fun fair and Super Bowl fundraiser. Interested donors can contact potsdammusicfriends@gmail.com.
