OGDENSBURG -- Patrick J. Geary, 70, of Ogdensburg, died April 14, 2024, surrounded by love. There will be no funeral or calling hours per his wishes.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Patrick J. Geary was born in Ogdensburg, NY on October 16, 1953. He was the son of the late Elmer and Jean (Graveline) Geary and the grandson of the late Phyllis and Arthur Graveline.

He attended OFA and worked various maintenance jobs early in life.

Patrick was married to Lenette (Ferguson) Deloney in 1977, their marriage ended in divorce.

Patrick enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Westerns, and he loved animals.

As we remember Patrick, it's essential to acknowledge his struggle with alcoholism as only a part of the person we've lost. Alcoholism didn’t define him in life, and it will not define him in death. We must celebrate the light in Patrick’s life and cherish the fond memories that will forever live in our hearts.

He was a kind and loving man and despite his battles he loved his daughters with everything in him. Thanks to the power of forgiveness, he was able to pass with dignity surrounded by family and knowing that he was so very loved.

Special thanks go not only to the amazing staff at North County Nursing Home but also his ex-wife, Lenette (Letti) Deloney, who graciously helped his daughter care for him up until the very end.

He is survived by his two children, Tessa Latham and her husband, Wayne of Ogdensburg, New York and Shauna Geary and her partner, Nicole Martinez of Chesapeake, Virginia. His grandchildren, Avery, Emma, Jacob, and Kate who brought him so much joy and pride in his final days. His siblings, Colleen Stone of Canton, New York, Shawn (Connie) Geary of Huntsville, Alabama, and Kelly (Linda) Geary, Ogdensburg, New York. He is also survived by his close friends, Kathy Herbick of Arizona, and Robert Livingston of Rossie, New York along with Robert’s grandchildren Emma, Ian, and Evan who “Uncle Pat” loved dearly.

Donations in Patrick’s memory may be made to Gracious Friends Animal Sanctuary 8201 County Route 58, Heuvelton, NY 13654 or to Alcoholics Anonymous, P.O. Box 2407, James A. Farley Station, New York, NY 10116-2407.
