POTSDAM — The nationwide AT&T cellular outage is impacting some police agencies locally.
The Potsdam Police Department cannot currently receive phone calls and those with AT&T service may not be able to contact 9-1-1., the department said in an online statement.
“If you are an AT&T customer and cannot get through to 911, then please try calling from a landline. If that is not an option then please try to get ahold of a friend or family member who is a customer of a different carrier and ask them to call 911 on your behalf,” police said.
Cities such as Houston,. Calls, Chicago and New York a reporting the highest nimbler of outages.
“If you are at a location where WiFi is accessible, turn on your WiFi if you are able to,” police said.
