Katherine L. Gilmour, 68, Hammond

HAMMOND -- Katherine L. Gilmour, aged 68, of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, surrounded by her three daughters as they sang many cherished songs during her passing.

Born on December 11, 1955, in Ogdensburg to Joseph and Alice (Reynolds) Warren, Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and devotion.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. David A. Phelps officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Morristown. Calling hours will be observed on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm & 4:00-6:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Kathy's life was rich with love and family. She is survived by her three daughters: Farah Gilmour and her companion Simon Sargent of Ogdensburg, Arminda (Todd) Hunter of Hammond, and Lauren Gilmour of Morristown; her son Michael Gilmour of Colorado, her former husband Robert Gilmour of Morristown; grandchildren Nora Gilmour-Hadlock, Brandon and Nathan Sequist, Aiden, Jacob & Sean Hunter, Talula O'Brien and Francesca and Gigi Ferruzza. Additionally, Kathy is survived by her sisters: Judy Wright of Morristown, Sharon Logan of Missouri, Barbara (Christian) Turner of Macomb, and Susan (Richard) Ekman of Brier Hill, along with her brother J. Willis Warren and his companion, Gladys Sanford of Brier Hill. She is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Warren, three brothers, Howard, Joseph, and Gordon Warren, and two sisters, Linda Cutway and Carolyn Bickelhaupt.

A woman of many talents, Kathy pursued her education at Canton ATC, and graduated nursing school with her daughter in 1997.

She dedicated her career to serving others, working at Claxton Hepburn Mental Health Department, the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility, as well as teaching for St. Lawrence & Jefferson County BOCES.

Kathy was also the proud owner of Custom Colors by Katherine, specializing in wallpaper and interior design both residentially and commercially.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Kathy found joy in singing, music, gardening, cooking, interior design, and entertaining.

She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Stars and taught Sunday school for a period, exemplifying her commitment to community and faith.
