John Paul "J.P." Maxwell, 33, Rochester

ROCHESTER — John Paul “J.P.” Maxwell age 33 passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family at Strong Memorial Hospital on May 23rd 2022.

He was loved deeply by so many.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home 64 Andrews Street Massena.

Born July 18, 1988 in Malone NY He was the son of Lisa Wilson and Christopher Maxwell.

John is survived by his s maternal Grandmother “Nana” Melinda Wilson of Louisville and his paternal Grandmother Eleanor Maxwell of Massena.

John is survived by several Aunts and Uncles and many cousins.

John Paul grew up in Louisville.

He was a communicate of Saint Lawrence Church where he served as an altar boy for 3 years. He played minor hockey and little league for the Town of Louisville.

J.P. also enjoyed playing lacrosse.

He loved hockey most of all, it was his passion and his dream until he broke his ankle. John had a passion for music that ran deep, he played the guitar as much as he could and even had a band.

John attended Massena Central High School graduating in 2007 with a Regents Diploma.

John also attended B.O.C.E.S where he was enrolled in the Building Trades Program.

After graduating, he worked at Tony’s Pizzeria then got into the Home Health Care Industry.

He grew up to be a very loving and caring and intelligent young man, friends and family referred to him as the “Walking Encyclopedia.”

Family and friends are invited and may call the Phillips Memorial Home 64 Andrews Street Massena on Tuesday May 31 from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at the St. Lawrence Church with burial immediately following at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Louisville Minor Hockey program. Ray Hurlbut Community Center, 44 Arena Drive Chase Mills, NY 13621.
