POTSDAM — A free World Fiddle Day celebration with a fiddle concert and Old Time Fiddle Jam session will be held Saturday, May 11, at the Potsdam Public Library. Gretchen Koehler and her Madstop Fiddlers will be performing at 2 p.m., with an open jam afterward. The jam session is open to all acoustic musicians who want to join in. Bring your fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, concertina, tin whistle, harmonica, etc., and play along. Two optional workshops ahead of World Fiddle Day where musicians can learn or brush up on the tunes below. The workshops will be,May 4, 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the TAUNY Center, Canton, and May 5, 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Potsdam Public Library. Workshops are free and open to the public and are led by fiddler Gretchen Koehler.
