POTSDAM — "Eating on the Wild Side: The Missing Link to Optimum Health” will be a free class offered at the Potsdam Public Library on Monday, May 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Master Gardeners Sara Trimm, of Colton,  and Brad Pendergraft, of Parishville,  will share interesting scientific data and fun facts on what plant varieties are most packed with nutrition and ideal ways to prepare them.

They'll take you on a journey from the wild plants that comprised our original diets to those we see in grocery stores today.

Find out how to reclaim the vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants that have been lost in favor of other characteristics, and get gardening tips from the best if you're inspired to grow your own food.

Both Sara and Brad completed the Master Gardener Volunteer Program in 2022.

There is no required preparation, but participants can check out the book "Eating on the Wild Side" by Jo Robinson, or visit her website: eatwild.com if they want a head start.
