Dorothy "Dottie" L. Goodrich, 84, Brasher Falls

BRASHER FALLS -- Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" L. Goodrich, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Dottie was born on September 21, 1939, in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, daughter of the late John W. and Evelyn (Glines) Mitchell.

She attended Pinkerton Academy in New Hampshire and graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1957.

She married Carl "Joe" Goodrich at the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church on June 13, 1959. They shared a blessed union of 62 years until Joe's passing on August 28, 2021.

Dottie was a legal secretary for the law office of Ethan Phillips for many years, then as an accomplished local artist, she opened the Gallery of Art Studio at her home.

She was a member of the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Massena Artist Association, Friends of Gibson Gallery, a Brownie Troop Leader, a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, the Helena Historical Society, the Fairview Cemetery Association, and the St Lawrence County Historical Association.

She served as Town of Brasher Historian.

Dottie is survived by her sons: Terry and Donna Goodrich, Brasher Falls, Timothy and Cynthia Goodrich, Massena, Thomas and Shelley Goodrich, Brasher Falls, her daughter, Tricia and Terry Karasiewicz of Mulberry, FL; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mary A. Henry on October 6, 2022 and step-sister, Mary L. Hebert on October 17, 2023.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm at the Knapp's Station Community Church, 3035 County Route 47, Norwood, NY.

Dottie's funeral service will begin upon the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00 pm.

She will be buried with her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Brasher Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tri- Town Rescue Squad or Brasher- Winthrop Volunteer Fire Department.
