Chicken Butchering Workshop

HEUVELTON -- Join farmer Brian Bennett (NOFA-NY Farmer of the Year) at Bittersweet-Milkweed Collaborative Farm, 1249 St Hwy 184, to learn everything you've ever wanted to know about chicken butchering.

This will be a hands-on experience. Participants will have the opportunity to butcher and eviscerate a bird. Not for the squeamish!

Learn best practices for when and how to butcher a chicken safely. This includes discussions of how to respect the bird, checking for signs of illness, and how to store and cook the butchered chicken.

Suggested for mature learners.
