While taking a nice Sunday afternoon ride with my husband on our motorcycle, I was totally appalled by a white Avalanche pickup truck leaving Ogdensburg Burger King. The driver was a young lady who first of all didn’t even stop for the stop sign leaving the exit of Burger King but also didn’t bother to look for oncoming traffic, as when she pulled out of the parking lot, I could feel the wind from her truck. That’s how close she was to plowing us over. Thank goodness my husband was alert and paying attention. The youthful driver then continued down the road without batting an eye. Don’t we all know it’s summertime. A motorcycle is no different than having a car, truck, or bus coming down the road, so why can’t people of all ages take a second to stop and look before leaving an exit of any parking lot? Motorcyclists have the same right to be on the road as any other registered and insured vehicle.
