In response to “Timers Need Resetting” which appeared in the Aug. 17-23 issue of North Country This Week: Somehow I got the impression that this person sees themselves as very entitled and heaven forbid anyone else should slow down their progress through life. I do most of my driving through the Village of Potsdam and don’t find the lights long at all. There is traffic coming and going in various directions and everyone needs to take their turn. It gives one an opportunity to take a moment of rest and look about. The worst intersection is out on Maple Street, where there is really a meeting of the minds. To this driver I would like to say, if this is your biggest complaint of the week, you’re doing pretty doggone good. There are lots of folks who don’t know where the money is going to come from to feed their kids, how will they pay their rent, will a loved one survive their cancer, etc. If this little bit of waiting is a major problem for you, you are one very fortunate person. Be grateful you’re still upright and taking nourishment.
