The Village of Potsdam does not need a roundabout, they need the DOT to fix the timing of the lights. Ever since Market Street was paved, the intersections that I use the most are horrendous. Market and Elm, you wait forever to turn left coming off of Elm onto Market. Coming off of Depot Street Jreck’s could sell 20 subs while one is waiting for the light to change. And now Sandstone Drive is ridiculous. Granted, sometimes there are lines at that intersection — because the lights are so long — and in the evening and Sundays, when traffic is light, you still wait and wait for the light to change. And then there is the one-way street by the post office. If you are not right on the bumper of the car ahead of you, there is no way you will get through the light, since it changes so quickly. All that is needed — since it was not always this bad — is for someone on the DOT to learn how to set timers.
