Should contractors who bid on New York State contracts be forced to seek out and utilize minority or women owned companies to supply services or goods, by-passing other companies who may offer the same at a lower price but because of established goals set by the Minority & Women Business Department in Albany for each contract they are overlooked? The state and its taxpayers are being charged more money to satisfy these ridiculous goals and as a taxpayer don’t we all want the biggest bang for our buck?
