The speed limits seem contradictory on many of our county roadways. Why is it 35 mph on a state highway through Raymondville and parts of Massena, and 55 mph on narrow country roads, forcing trucks and commuters to clog the back roads, destroy the infrastructure, tranquility, and endanger homeowners? The speed limits change every two minutes traveling from Massena to Potsdam. These major highways and four-lanes were designed to accommodate heavy trucks and timely commuters. Wouldn't 45 mph make more sense going through Raymondville and Massena? I understand the need for traffic safety, but some of these speed limits defy logic. Also, keep it simple; 55 mph, 45 mph, and 30 mph unless it's interstate or thruway.
