In response to “Thick Skin” which appeared in the Nov. 15-21 issue of North Country This Week: I assume that it must be a spoof, albeit a rather tasteless one. What responsible person would, in all seriousness, want to rationalize and normalize the vile behavior of sexual predators, like Donald Trump and (in the spirit of bipartisanship) Bill Clinton, under the cutesy slogan: "boys will be boys?" This would set behavioral standards for men rather low, as serial perpetrators. To further suggest, as does the author, that we should not call out this behavior, but instead keep "walking quietly behind [Trump] with dignity" is just bizarre. Finally, to refer to the Groper-in-Chief in the White House as a "great man" is as inaccurate as alleging that the majority of Americans supported him. In fact, his opponent won the popular vote by over 3 million, while over 90 million voting-age people stayed home, finding no reason to support either candidate.
