Parents, are you really afraid of your kids? Are you afraid to teach them the difference between right and wrong? How about the meaning of respect for others around them? I often see kids that desperately need a good swift kick in the pants, but sadly the parents just turn the other cheek and pretend all is well. Case in point, I live on Higley Flow, a great place to call home and we love it there … but all summer long we have jet skis that can reach speeds of 60-70 mph going as fast as they can with kids on them going at top speed, swerving in and out of other boats that are towing tubes, or water skiers, chasing each other to spray each other, jumping wakes so close to other boats to land in front of boats going the other way, circling people fishing in their boats again at top speeds. Really someone is going to get hurt and when they do it will not be good. I really wish there was money in the budget for our waters to be patrolled more often as I would just love to see all the irresponsible parties be arrested for reckless endangerment (that’s right parents you too). Please teach your kids about safety. Because should a lawsuit occur from injury due to negligence, guess what mom and dad, you to will be involved and it won’t be pretty.
