Why don't locals have access to the St. Lawrence River anymore? The powers to be have put in big boulders blocking traffic to most of the cool river access points near Massena. In the old days you could drive the dike behind the Massena Country Club to three points that are great for fishing. This is now a walking trail? It's kind of hard for old men to walk that far to get to the old fishing holes. The road near the S-curves has also been blocked off. This also was a great river access area at one time. There is no reason the public should be denied access to these areas.
