I have noticed many letters and articles speaking of the need to “respect motorcycles” on the road now since warmer weather is here. I wish I could find some validity with this statement. What I have noticed is being tailgated by motorcyclists, reading about high-speed crashes and tickets for these individuals. Instead of creating a demand for respect on the highway with these machines, perhaps being respectful on the highway goes both ways. Obey the rules of the road like all of us and then perhaps you will be given courtesy. Being ticketed for doing 130 mph certainly won’t gain my respect.
