In regard to “On Potsdam Taxes” (Feb. 6 - 12), I would like to point out that, of course, everyone is going to sell their house for more than its assessed value. The assessment is based on your property and the outside of your house. When someone sells their house, they also sell the inside, which has not been assessed. I don’t recall anyone gutting the inside of his or her house before selling it in order to just sell it for its assessment.
