In response to “How to Measure Success of Positivity Project” which appeared in the Sept. 8-14 issue of North Country This Week: Actually, schools compile reports of harassment, discrimination and bullying, under New York State Education Law. I would be interested to know if implementing the Positivity Project has any impact on the number or type of these reports. Schools could measure pre-and post Positivity Project to assess the impact on the number and types of reports. Obviously, this is not a perfect metric because it would not capture unreported incidents, positive actions on the part of students or other less tangible measurements (the author mentioned the quality of friendships for example). It still might be a start for measuring the success of the project and is an accessible measurement that schools could utilize.
