You are wrong in the Sound Off “School failed Son” (Dec. 8-14). I don’t know all the factors involved in this particular case. But I can say the writer is wrong to blame the school. It is my opinion that you as a parent or parents failed your son long before the school ever got its chance at your son. Parenting is a skill that requires time and patience and it starts in the home with the parents. The fact that that your son has a job indicates to me that the school did their job in educating your son. Otherwise he would be in jail or even worse off. Drug addiction is dangerous and has very deadly side effects, and unfortunately there are some kids who just can’t be rehabilitated no matter what.
