Having read about the rare examples of honesty (returning lost purses, etc.) in Potsdam, I wish to remind you that things do not always have a happy ending. This winter while driving an elderly resident’s car, I dropped her car keys (with a $90 remote) shortly after checking out at the Save-a-Lot in Potsdam. They were not returned to the store nor to the police station. A thorough search by one of Potsdam’s finest with flashlight did not produce them. The car was parked very close to the entrance and the sidewalks were clear.
