Wow, wow and wow! What a cruel, cruel Sound Off (“Sports Merger Crazy” Jan. 26-Feb. 1). Boy do you sound like the disgruntled parent of an underachiever (at least in your eyes). Sports mergers open the doors to many children who may not otherwise get to explore their interests. I always went to small private religious schools and never got to “try” a lot of things like different sports. It is a competitive world out there, so someone needs to raise their child with encouragement, not jealousy over a competitive sport or perhaps choose some other outlet for their child. You are certainly no role model. How directly insulting to go so far as to single out a child from Madrid and add more insult to injury by your ignorant suggestion to purchase a home in Canton. I hope you keep all your business in Canton and don’t shop or violate any other towns with your money or presence.
