How about “save Norwood-Norfolk residents who are funding the budget?” Sports, class trips, yadda, yadda, yadda. The vote was very close--and I am ashamed at those who voted “yes.” Simple solution: cut administration and add employee benefit contribution if you’re so concerned with the future of the children. This budget is ludicrous. It really costs $19,000 per student? Give me a break. Have a look at the district’s median resident income and decide how fair that is. Uneducated about what is going on at NNCS you say? Educate residents on all salaries. As is the case in most businesses--and yes, the school is a business--they are way too “top heavy.” Here’s an idea to find out just how do we operate on a lower budget. Give the state of Iowa a call! They have the highest grades in the country and pay the lowest ($4,000 per student).
