For people to blame an inanimate object for violence in schools is a concern. Guns have been around for hundreds of years and never on their own committed any crime/murder etc. The only thing responsible for these act were the people using guns. I have seen where people are murdered with knives and baseball bats, but yet to see a protest for them to be banned. Someone tell me what an assault weapon is? Is it not any item that is used to unwantedly touch another person? So we have assault cars? Assault pens? How about instead of crying foul we start holding people responsible. Do I see adding more laws the solution? No. I see parents being parents as the solution. Parents need to step up and hold kids accountable and teach them respect for one another. If the school has no way to defend then anyone can roll in and start shooting, knifing, or clubbing and who is there to stop them? Maybe our retired law enforcement or military vets would volunteer their time to protect these institutions if asked.
